Origin & Production:
Produced in the Northern Rhône Valley, this wine is 100% Syrah, grown on steep granite slopes within the Saint-Joseph appellation. M. Chapoutier employs sustainable and biodynamic viticulture, ensuring minimal intervention and maximum terroir expression. Grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and fermented in temperature-controlled vats. The wine is matured partly in oak barrels and partly in concrete tanks for 12 months, striking a balance between fruit purity and oak influence.

Tasting Notes:
A deep garnet hue with purple reflections, it opens with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and violet, underscored by hints of pepper, smoked meat, and subtle spice. On the palate, it is medium-bodied yet full of character, offering juicy black fruits wrapped in fine tannins. Earthy minerality and a touch of cocoa emerge mid-palate, leading to a refined, slightly savory finish with lingering spice.

Serving Suggestion:
Best enjoyed at 16–18°C. Decanting for 30–45 minutes allows the wine’s aromatic complexity to unfold. Ideal pairings include grilled lamb, duck breast, roasted vegetables, or mature cheeses. Its structure and elegance make it suitable for cellaring for 5–7 years.
