Nederburg Pinotage is crafted in South Africa’s Western Cape, where warm days and cooling evening breezes help Pinotage reach full flavor ripeness while retaining structure. Grapes are picked at optimal phenolic maturity, destemmed, and given a careful, temperature-controlled fermentation to preserve bright fruit. Gentle pump-overs extract color and supple tannins without harshness. A portion is matured in oak to add vanilla, cocoa, and sweet spice accents while maintaining the variety’s signature juiciness. The winemaking approach focuses on clarity of fruit and balance in the glass, creating a Pinotage that is expressive yet approachable for everyday enjoyment or special occasions.

Tasting Notes:
The nose opens with ripe black cherry, mulberry, and sun-warmed plum, followed by hints of mocha, baking cocoa, and a light whiff of clove. On the palate, generous layers of dark berries meet subtle notes of milk chocolate, roasted coffee bean, and sweet tobacco.
