Origin & Production:
Cruz 30 Year Old Tawny Port is an exceptional aged wine from the prestigious Porto Cruz cellars, located in Portugal’s Douro Valley. Crafted from noble Portuguese grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca, it is vinified in the traditional port style before being fortified with grape spirit. The wine matures for three decades in seasoned oak casks, allowing a slow, controlled oxidation that imparts remarkable depth, a luminous golden-amber hue, and layers of complexity only achievable through long aging.
Tasting Notes:
This rare Tawny Port opens with an intoxicating bouquet of dried figs, toasted hazelnuts, and almonds, intertwined with honey, toffee, and subtle hints of coffee and cocoa. Gentle oxidative notes of leather, cigar box, and old wood add profound elegance. On the palate, it is silky yet concentrated, delivering flavors of caramelized nuts, candied orange peel, and warm spices, balanced by a delicate acidity that keeps the sweetness refined. The finish is extraordinarily long, with lingering notes of walnut and soft vanilla.
Serving Suggestion:
Serve lightly chilled, around 14–16 °C, to reveal its aromatic richness. Perfect as a luxurious digestif, it pairs beautifully with fine cheeses, especially aged cheddar or Stilton, as well as nut-based pastries and dark chocolate desserts. It can also be enjoyed on its own, allowing the decades of craftsmanship to be savored in every sip—ideal for marking life’s most memorable occasions.
